Position Summary: The M-F full time Staff Accountant is responsible to provide general accounting support to assigned business units. This position is part of a team of 8 to 10 employees at our state office in Edina. Key Responsibilities: The Staff Accountant position includes tasks such as compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger accounts and the documentation of business transactions. Prepare month-end general ledger journal entries and perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy, consistency and completeness of all relevant information, while ensuring appropriate documentation is in place and all payments are made in a timely manner. Requirements: • Desire to work hard, have fun and be a team player • Knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel and Word • Preferred knowledge of Oracle, Avatar, and Hyperion • Excellent computer skills, data entry speed and accuracy, and related office equipment • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Demonstrated ability to carry out assigned job responsibilities and complete required documentation • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and ability to work well independently • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Federal, State and local regulations. • Eligible as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Department of Human Services, and the Company's Corporate Compliance Plan. • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company's insurance carrier.
