Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) is a US$2.5B Business Unit of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). Through a worldwide network of local branch offices, HBS installs, integrates and maintains systems that keep facilities safe, secure, comfortable, productive, and energy-efficient.

HBS has an opportunity for a Sr. Strategic Marketing Manager to join the HBS Strategy & Marketing organization.

The incumbent will provide critical global strategy leadership for the rapidly evolving Security and/or Energy sectors.

The Sr. Strategic Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Global Strategic Marketing. The position is based in Minneapolis, MN, but there is some flexibility on US locations for the right candidate. Availability to travel as requested is a key requirement.

Position summary
This individual will:
* Own, create and deploy a multi year, value proposition based roadmap for new services and products for an assigned line of business.
* Lead VoC and drive marketing inputs into the New Product Introduction (NPI) process including market definition, segmentation, clear articulation and quantification of customer needs, translation into functional requirements, value identification, and value based pricing.
* Develop lifecycle business models and recurring revenue offerings that rely on the existing HBS branch network for project and service delivery.
* Embed new offers in the HBS offer portfolio at the branch level via teaming with Business Leaders, Offer Management, Regional Marketing, Field Sales and Field Operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive the new offer development process
o Drive the NPI process. Deliver customer segmentation, identify customer needs, generate ideas, quantify the opportunity, deliver the value equation as well as functional requirements that can be successfully translated into a value proposition based roadmap and offering concepts
o Ensure that new offers are priced in line with the value drivers indentified while clearly articulating points of differentiation vs the competition
o Be the focal point for all VOC activities related to new offerings being developed in the assigned LOB.
o Formulate and evaluate strategic options. Provide recommendations on investments to improve long term revenue growth and profitability
- Work with leadership during the Strategic Plan (STRAP) process to articulate the rationale and need for new global offerings for the assigned line of business.
o Liaise with general managers and marketing leaders across the different geographies to ensure there is alignment with the strategy
- Design and conduct analysis to identify, quantify and articulate potential areas of opportunity
o Develop, implement and maintain market sizing estimates to incorporate latest business trends and developments (leveraging global market research team)
o Capture, maintain and communicate a comprehensive, timely and insightful competitive analysis to HBS leadership that will allow effective positioning of the business in respective geographies
o Ensure business is aware of key industry trends and technology advances. Leverage the knowledge to identify portfolio enhancements, updates and/or adjacent growth segments for organic and/or inorganic growth.

Basic Qualifications
- BS/ BA in a Technical Discipline.
- 5 years of experience in B2B strategic marketing roles

- BS/BA in Engineering, Economics or Finance

o Excellent broad-based business skills
o Firm grasp of marketing principles
o Strong analytics/ problem solving to turn data into actions and results

- 2-4 years experience in a top-tier strategic management-consulting firm strongly preferred
o Proven record of strategic analysis / implementation of strategic initiatives
o Experience in software, service or industrial businesses preferred
o Alternatively, building solutions, security, energy or smart grid industry experience preferred
- Strong business acumen, negotiations, and leadership skills
- International experience a plus
- IT savvy, must have appreciation of services requirements of open systems world
