Sensing and Control (S&C) is a strategic business unit in Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). S&C is one of the world's leading suppliers of sensors, switches, machine safeguarding and other devices for a variety of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) applications in the aerospace, medical, transportation, industrial, and test and measurement sectors.

We are seeking a Global Product Marketing Manager in our Golden Valley, MN location.

Reporting to the Global Product Line Director, Aerospace/Defense Products located in Golden Valley, MN. The Global Product Marketing Manager for the Aerospace & Defense Products group (Commerical and Military Defense as well as Transportation Military and Defense) is responsible for establishing a business growth strategy and for managing business performance for the Aerospace & Defense Products portfolio. The incumbent will partner with Sales, Marketing and Technology to identify and drive GLOBAL growth; and own and drive product line performance and profitability, e.g. cost positioning, pricing strategies, competitive analysis, product lifecycle management. This position also plays a critical role in the development of large contracts for commercial and government aerospace and defense programs including the negotiation of contract terms and conditions.

Primary Responsibilities of this role will include:

Market Development
.In support of the regional product marketing managers, assist with the execution of regional product strategies to support of S&C Strategic and Annual Operating plans.
.Identify, actively manage, and close step-out or regionally directed business initiatives.
.Lead global competitive analysis and counter-strategy development.
.Understand and communicate to sales organization aspects that contribute to losses of business or projects and delineate strategies to minimize losses.
.Assist with Voice of Customer gathering, analysis, reporting, and subsequent business plan development.
.Understand and communicate customer buying and selection processes within appropriate customer segments.

New Business Opportunity Development
.Working with the regional sales leaders and teams, ensure regionally aligned marketing and sales strategies will target and support new business opportunities; assist regional product marketing teams with execution of those plans.
.Work with regional sales leaders to establish global sales goals, target customers, account plans, and other targets consistent with product line strategies and goals.
.Support the regional sales team in developing a consultative selling process for uncovering and winning new business, including strong value proposition development for S&C products and how they meet customer needs.
.Responsible for the development of large contract bid proposals for commercial and government aerospace programs including the negotiation of contract terms and conditions as well as supplier and partner agreements. Implement and manage effective export compliance programs under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
.Works with functional staff to prepare and deliver proposals for pursuing new military / government business. Assist in major contract proposals and ensure a Contract Compliance Matrix is completed regarding the customer's Terms and Conditions Agreement.
.Sustain rapport with key growth accounts by making regular visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities

Product Line Business Performance
.Assume responsibility for regional overflow business or projects to meet or exceed annual revenue and operating income targets.
.Work with teams to develop applications notes, NBO win critical success factors, summarize and communicate key points to the sales organization.
.Assist with conducting pricing and profitability analysis and implement initiatives to increase profitability, use pricing/profitability process in combination with competitive analysis to assist regional product teams in identifying critical cost reduction targets.

New Product Development (NPD)
.Provide insights from marketing visits and sales input to support development of strong business cases for future research and new product development initiatives
.Define early product concept/positioning development and refinement to ensure future view of all regional market needs are considered in the STRAP and Technology development projects

Basic Qualifications
. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or other business related or technical discipline Masters Degree in Engineering and an MBA are strongly preferred.
. 5 years of experience in product marketing.

Preferred Qualifications
. Master's Degree in Engineering and/or MBA
. Minimum five (5) years management experience
. Experience with deploying and managing Contract/Program Management processes strongly preferred in the government/military industry; including proposal preparation, terms and conditions review and negotiation, fact finding and price negotiation and government contract regulations. Knowledge on FAR, DFAR and ITAR regulations.
. Demonstrated ability to create a vision and drive change, as well as an ability to work within larger organizational objectives
. Strong Project Management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
. Experience with industry leading marketing tools and initiatives
. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification a strong plus
