Job Description:
Solderer III Eden Prairie, MN
Role Description Logic PD is seeking a Solderer III for the Eden Prairie, MN location. This position performs moderately complex to advanced electronic soldering operations on components or subassemblies using schematics, blueprints, electronic files, or drawings. Also performs leadership responsibilities as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Soldering: * Installation through-hole and surface mount components (moderate complexity soldering) * Perform visual self-inspection per IPC-610A * Post-SMT hand insertion and mechanical assembly * Perform advanced soldering; wire and solder prototypes and other complex assembles of unique or unusual design * BGA rework/Replacement * Perform repairs – e.g., lifted pads, damaged foils, damaged CCA corners * Gold plating – tab repair * May be source inspector
Leadership: * Act as Soldering Trainer (not IPC trainer) * May be Line Lead or fill in for the Team Leader * May be a member of the NPI team * Maintain team management schedule
Requirements * High School Diploma or equivalent * 6 or more years of soldering experience * IPC (J Standard) certification * Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English * Critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and ability to reason mathematically * Can self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step in the production process * Able to provide clear directions to others, and to maintain a safe, 5S environment * Must communicate clearly, possess a positive attitude, and cooperate well with team members * Able to work in a fast-paced environment; can adapt to quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction
