Job Description :

Summary: Responsible to assist the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager in monitoring code welding operations, checking incoming material to purchase orders and drawings for conformity to ASME Code requirements, inspecting and verifying product layouts and fit-ups meet print and Code requirements, and monitoring Code welding operations, job records, and calibration of test equipment.


Essential Functions:
* Perform required inspection, examination, and testing of Code materials and components in accordance with the Quality Control Manual and applicable codes.
* Conduct in-process inspections of power boilers, pressure vessels, and piping per Code and sign off Operational Routing (ORs).
* Perform final inspection per Code on prints and specifications for completed units prior to shipment, including steam drums, piping, boilers, and structural steel, and obtain Engineering release after completion of inspection.
* Review drawings and ORs for inspection on a timely basis.
* Check As/Built Material Records.
* Check Mill Test Reports on incoming Section II materials per Section II.
* Check heat charts for compliance with ASME Section I and VIII.
* Check hydro test reports for compliance with ASME Code and Deltak procedures.
* Verify code stamping of pressure vessels in accordance with the applicable Code requirements.

Job Requirements :

Technical Skills:

* Technical AWS CWI Certification required.
* MT/PT Level II, UT, RT Level II desired.
* Technical training regarding Quality Control standards essential.
* Must possess strong product knowledge of boiler system components and operation, ability to proficiently interpret technical drawings, documents, and specifications; and ability to apply ASME Boiler Code Standards.
* Must possess advanced knowledge of shop procedures, fabrication and welding processes and related quality standards.
* Strong communication skills to interface with company personnel to achieve optimal outcomes on manufacture of quality equipment are essential.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
* Technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records: Quality Control software programs and systems; MS software (Word and Excel); MS Outlook; and MRP systems.

* Ability to work within office and manufacturing environments.
* Ability to stand, climb ladders, walk, bend, lift product, and move about in a manufacturing environment to monitor and assess product quality.

Education: High school graduate; Technical AWS CWI Certification required; Technical Training on Quality Control Standards essential.

Experience: One to three years of prior experience in related industry desired.

Special Dimensions: Exposed to occupational and environmental risks part of a normal workday.
