Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and characterizing engineering processes which support the coating or manufacturing of medical products.
Responsibilities include the following:
Design and execute experiments characterizing a coating process or manufacturing process design space.
Execute process characterization, optimization, and validation studies to enable product scale-up and transfer to manufacturing.
Develop novel R&D coating processes to meet internal or external customer requirements
Support the design and build of new process equipment.
Conduct analysis of experimental results utilizing appropriate statistical tools.
Effectively communicate experimental results and conclusions to key stakeholders.
Produce documentation consistent with SurModics’ quality system standards and best practices for regulated products.
Requirements:
BS or advanced degree in Engineering
Minimum 3 - 7 years experience in the medical device industry
Demonstrated skills in process characterization and manufacturing process scale-up
Excellent written communication skills
Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
