What are the job responsibilities? . Advanced level underwriting position.
. Master in the risk evaluation of group insurance products.
. Responsibilities include:
o Case level production of one or more products and able to handle the most complex situations.
o Project leadership and recurring project participation
o Field office travel including successful client and industry facing experiences
o Trains, and mentors less experienced underwriters, as well as sales reps
o Proactively looks for & suggests process and risk assessment improvement
o Quality Assurance
o Appeals of underwriting decisions
o Team captains for the department
o Represents underwriting to any other audiences necessary in any situations
o Back-up to management
o Other responsibilities as assigned

. Handles the most difficult and complex underwriting subjects, projects, cases, topics, etc.
. Positive agent for continuous improvement and change
. Willingly challenges management professionally and directly on issues facing the department.
. Promotes, and participates in, WPC efforts and surveys
. 10+ years of demonstrated underwriting experience and knowledge of the broader industry
. Actively coaching and developing self and others

. Advocate for the underwriting and the field
