OurAnoka, MNlocation is seeking a Operations Manager to add to our team. This location has a rich history in the community and has been operating since 1922. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the manufacturing operations on the weekends. The work schedule for this position is Thursday through Monday. Responsibilities: To control and direct the manufacturing operations at the Anoka location to ensure safety, maintain quality, maximize productivity, meet customer demand, and maximize employee satisfaction. Coordinate operations needs with all support groups including Machine Shop, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Scheduling, Human Resources, Sales, Continuous Improvement, Safety, Security, and Health. Coordinate safety efforts with manufacturing operations. Monitor safety observations and lead incident investigations to identify root cause and corrective actions in order to improve overall plant safety as well as achieve established goals. * Achieve established cost of quality objectives to reduce scrap costs and increase customer satisfaction. * Manage staffing levels and approve hiring practices. Maintain employee satisfaction through the practice, promotion, and teaching of servant leadership. Empower the people. Develop and mentor subordinates. Provide and maintain a favorable work environment, resolve personnel conflicts, and keep good morale by providing open communication and consistent decision making. Perform personnel maintenance and welfare to ensure the mental well being of employees. * Direct product flow, production rates, and product mixes to best meet customer demands while keeping inventories in line with plans. * Maximize throughput while minimizing cost. Ensure employees have all resources needed to obtain the established plant goals and collect their value sharing. * Provide an environment of continuous improvement. Drive lean manufacturing through facilitation of tier meetings. Utilize the lean manufacturing principles to establish, develop, change and improve the culture. Coach subordinates to see to it that the process runs as designed and improve it. * Responsible for managing all resources within area of responsibility. Identifying and correcting shortages of resources. Education and Experience Requirements: * 2-year degree or 4+ years experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of degree. * 4+ years experience in manufacturing atmosphere including exposure to Department Manager or Production Supervisor positions. * Computer skills including Word, Excel, and familiarity with databases. * Must have demonstrated strong organizational skills and strong work ethic.
