Responsibilities:
Supports the day to day activities and projects of the information services department in accordance with organizational policies and goals.
Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation supporting higher education production environment.Working knowledge of TCP/IP internetworking/WAN data communications. Hardware includes mostly HP routers/switches, some Linux experience would be helpful.HP hardware experience not required but also helpful. Cisco, etc is fine.
Experience working with outsourced vendors for firewall/network security as well as experience managing and planning networking upgrades including implementation.
Ensures proper functioning of company's information processing systems, including servers, telecommunications, networking and security required to support client production environment and office operations.
Responsible for implementing and monitoring best practices processes, including security and data retention as required with PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Implements policies and procedures regarding problem identification, confirmation, resolution and knowledge documentation.
Manages issue resolution to defined metrics.
Works in concert with the two existing Network Administrators to support our external user systems, and to ensure proper integration where required with internal systems.
