Evaluates Underwriting questions and scenarios for Conventional, FHA and VA residential home loans. Evaluates the credit and property information via telephone and e-mails on loan files so that appropriate decisions are made as to the acceptability of the investment risk. Maintains a daily workload as needed to ensure prompt turnaround time as dictated by management. Provides prompt, quality service to the originating branches and correspondents in a friendly and professional manner.

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Five or more years of recent mortgage underwriting experience, including FHA, VA - FHA Direct Endorsement Underwriting designation
Preferred Skills/Experience - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Possess extensive current knowledge of all Underwriting guidelines of FHA, VA, and Freddie Mac. - Current knowledge of underwriting or processing residential FHA, VA and conventional mortgage loans within the last three to five years - Thorough knowledge of basic appraisal guidelines and requirements - Extensive knowledge and use of AllRegs - Proficient computer skills
