Honeywell Building Solutions has an outstanding opportunity for a Fire & Security Control Install Tech Specialist in Golden Valley, MN. If you have 3 years experience in programming and installing fire alarm systems along with a NICET 2 certification, this is your chance to take your career to the next level. The main function of this position is to commission Honeywell Control Systems - Fire & Security Control systems. These control systems are engineered by Honeywell in-house engineers, installed by Electrical Sub Contractors and then commissioned by Honeywell Field Techs in commercial buildings (office buildings, schools, universities, airports, hospitals, etc.).
General Job Duties · Coach and mentor at least one Associate Install Technical Specialist each year on delivery process, commissioning techniques and coordination at site with contractors · Work towards continuous improvement of commissioning practices, specifically reducing commissioning hours per device and/or hours per system using HOS techniques Basic Qualifications · Associates degree or 3 years experience in the fire and security controls industry along with a high school diploma/GED · NICET 2 Fire Alarm · Valid driver's license with a clean driving record · 3 years experience in programming and installing fire alarm systems
Preferred Qualifications · Fire and security systems operation and building facilities experience · Minnesota PLT license · Bachelor's degree · Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams · Ability to Diagnose and Troubleshoot complex systems · Strong understanding of computers and computer networking · Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done · Communication skills sufficient to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors · Ability to work as a member of a team · Ability to work independently and accomplish all commissioning tasks · Coaching and mentoring skills to guide Associate Install Technical Specialists · Ability to travel throughout district
