Financial Analyst
Position Purpose:
Performs service request work related to trading/accounting/system work involving system development and maintenance, compilation and analysis of data from our financial and trading applications, including PeopleSoft and other applications. The end result of the request has direct impact on the reporting from the application. Depending on the type of service request project, this role may require skills in project management, system and/or work process design, business analysis, and documentation skills. Collaboration with Business Units, IT and operations teams is an inherent part of each implementation. Ensure system customizations and enhancements satisfy global customers while maintaining global consistency and data integrity.
Principal Accountabilities:

Provide quality accounting data control and processing to maintain system and data integrity.

Handle day-to-day financial accounting system functions including data support. This can include report and query creation, understanding key tables that support our customers corporate and management reporting.

Improve and implement efficient system functionality. Help business units reduce manual processes by providing reporting solutions.

Work on short term projects, individually or on a team. This includes defining, planning, executing and managing the project.

Ensure all reporting procedures, policies and internal controls are documented and followed on a daily basis to ensure data integrity.

Working Conditions:
- Requests work can vary in scope and business subject, from smaller initiatives taking days to larger requests taking up to one year.
- Can have multiple requests in process at same time, typically 1 or 2 larger requests accompanied with multiple smaller requests enhancements.
- Priorities can change quickly.
- Exposure to multiple financial business units and float across various business units based on business need.
Problem Solving:
- Independent judgment is required to organize priorities to meet deadlines. Strong analytic skills. As reporting needs change, this position will need to develop new reports and reconciliation methods to accommodate the changes.

- Request work has impact to timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Work is highly visible. Quick, informed decisions on how to reach the most accurate end result are often required.

4 year college degree in business or equivalent experience

2 – 3 years accounting and/or 2-3 years financial trading/ledger systems design experience
