Site Overview: Woodwinds Health Campus - Located in Woodbury, Woodwinds Health Campus, blends high tech with high touch in a community hospital setting that specializes in Orthopaedic, Maternity, and Emergency Care. As part of HealthEast's commitment to integrative health, patients are provided a range of healing arts therapy, such as guided imagery, essential oils, and healing touch.

Department Overview: EMERGENCY CARE 15 bed growing Emergency Room with about 60-70 visits a day. Patient care ranges across all types except major trauma.

Primary Function:
& Major Responsibilities Provides patient care and other supportive activities under the direction of the Emergency Department Registered Nurses and medical staff.

Performs patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Patient care could include all age groups: Neo = 0 - 28 days, Ped = 28 days - 14 years, Adult = 18 - 70 years, Geri = 70+ years.

Performs other duties in support of the emergency department..

Promotes personal and patient safety by knowledge of hospital and unit infection control policies, safety policies, and the practice of universal precautions.

Participates in activities that contribute to improved clinical, personal satisfaction, and growth.

Understands the security requirements of medications and IV solutions.
Qualifications: Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of an Emergency Department Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification.


Experience :
Six months of direct patient care experience.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and communicate with multi-disciplinary staff.
Meets physical requirements of the position.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups (child through geriatric).
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
