Looking for a great opportunity to join a growing structural steel fabricator in the twin cities?
We’re looking for an experienced Detailer who has experience with SDS2 software.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Detailing Manager and will provide you with the responsibilities of:
Completing component or assembly drawings using SDS2
Working closely with Project Managers and the Detailing Manager to ensure what you are working on is the top priority
Looking for ways to streamline the department output in terms of volume and velocity
Ensuring the detailing of prints for the fabrication of structural steel are completed on time and are accurate for shop floor use
Continually improving your skill level with the software
Ensuring part files are prepared properly to download into CNC fabrication equipment on the shop floor
Working on multiple projects simultaneously and reporting the status of each project in review meetings
Learning the process from the design, detailing and drafting stage through steel fabrication phases of cutting, bending, welding and coating, to final on-site steel erection and steel construction
Requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Two year degree in architectural drafting/design or similar field
Experience in structural steel detailing using SDS/2 and/or Tekla
Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and the construction industry
Experience working with Design Engineers, Project Managers, Operations and interfacing with customers
Willingness to perform tasks outside core responsibilities to help complete projects on time and on budget
This position will provide you the hands-on experience of working in the structural steel fabrication industry. You will work with several different customers on a wide range of projects from big to small.
