SUMMARY: This role is a key member of the communications team who knows what it takes to implement communications initiatives that enhance and maintain the Travelers reputation and brand while supporting business objectives - with a primary focus on the Human Resources organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES: Be able to translate and adapt traditional communications and marketing methodologies to support Human Resources needs.
Responsible for development and execution of a wide range of editorial projects for external and internal audiences. Writes and edits departmental publications and monthly news magazines. Counsels internal clients on editorial matters.
Be a partner with the Human Resources functional leads to strategize and develop communications that support specific Human Resources initiatives.
Prepares publication materials, employee communications, newsletters, bulletins, and informational materials for internal or external audiences. Typically will research subject matter to write requested communications and will work with more senior/experienced staff to finalize.
Publish communications via the company's websites and email system.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY: College degree or equivalent in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field is preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Prefer two to four years of communications experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have outstanding communication skills - both verbal and written. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
OTHER: Excellent interpersonal, organizational and project management skills; ability to set clear expectations and deal effectively with individuals from all levels of the organization.
