Associate Manager - Product Integrity
OVERVIEW:
Manage PE Coordinators and ensure that MMG Private Label Merchandise meets all MMG Quality Standards and maintains compliance with all Federal, State, and Industry Requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manage PE Coordinators - set workloads, schedules and set yearly goals and objectives
Ensure time and action calendars are followed by their team (including contingency plans to ensure deliverables are met)
Train and enforce MMG Product Evaluation Processes and Procedures to all internal and external customers
Attend Line Reviews with Product Managers and identify required testing for each program/ each season
Review Product Testing Reports and communicate findings to the MMG Product Team, Overseas Offices, and/or Domestic Suppliers and make appropriate recommendations based on findings
Investigate customer returns and complaints to determine cause
DETAILED ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide technical training and counseling to PE Coordinators to increase their knowledge for assigned area
Provide direction for PE coordinators with QC issues, labeling issues, FTC requirements, testing requirements, wash care instructions and codes, workload management, general computer issues, company policies, etc.
Set high standards for staff to meet challenging business objectives
Make decisions about when internal testing should take place; responsible for budget control to keep testing costs to a minimum
Determine which styles/ colors need to be tested, propose fiber content and care instructions, and issue MMG's Test Request Form to Overseas Office and/or Domestic Supplier
Assess the need for Development Testing with the MMG Product Teams
Provide guidance and Corrective Action Plans to the MMG Product Teams, Overseas Offices, and/or Domestic Suppliers on any failures, issues, or questions that may arise during the testing process
Determine the need for additional layers of testing and inspections for problem vendors/programs with the MMG Product Teams, Overseas Offices, and/or Domestic Suppliers
Adhere to Time and Action Calendars and follow up on any pending items, making sure that Product Testing Reports are received prior to the Final Garment Inspection
Liaise with the MMG Approved Labs to ensure that processes are being followed correctly and/or to answer any questions
Update Weekly Workload Analysis Chart and Attendance Records
Attend required meetings as scheduled (Department Meetings, Supplier and/or MMG Product Team Meetings, New Supplier Set Up Meetings, etc.)
Ensure that staff is responding to correspondence in a timely manner
Maintain Physical and Electronic files as required
Keep open communication with Direct Reports and Direct Supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Expert knowledge of textile test methods and testing requirements
Diversified technical background in softlines and hardlines testing
Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations
3 - 5 years of supervisory experience
Strong data interpretation and communication skills
Detail oriented with a strong sense of urgency
Ability to work well independently and adapt well to a changing environment
Self motivated, proactive, and organized
Proficient in Microsoft Office
